I have always thought Morphine's absolutely brilliant combination of instruments made for an amazing sound. I'm sure most of you agree. Do any of you know anything similar?
I would really dig finding some new tunes that have a similar deep dark rich smokey lusty presence like Morphine's.
What do you think?
Possibly some of Tom Waits music does, what else?

nice way to describe it. I think elvis costello has got this sometimes, in the older stuff. -

Sat, March 27, 2004 - 9:53 AMPossibly the only one I've seen/heard is Steen Jorgensen of the Danish band Sort Sol (Black Sun) who has a solo album with another Dane who plays a dominant bass. I'll see if I can find the title. Oh yes, Steen has only one arm and looks like he only comes out at night. -

Re: Similar to Morphine?
Wed, July 28, 2004 - 9:10 PMOne of the best parts of listening to Morphine is changing my mind on who's most spectacular during one short song. Of course, another best part is seducing women who've never heard of them before. You hope that if they forget you in the morning, at least they'll remember the name of the band. -
